Stackdoor Secure First Certified Shutter to offer 80% Airflow
CGT Security are thrilled to announce that Stackdoor Secure has achieved certification to LPCB LPS 1175: Issue 8.
Issue 8 of the security standard came into effect January 2019, officially making Stackdoor Secure the first security shutter to achieve accreditation to the new regulations.
What is Stackdoor Secure?
Stackdoor Secure offers the security market the first ever certified security shutter with 80% free airflow. A revolutionary system that endorses pin-to-profile technology, the Stackdoor shutter reduces the necessary headroom requirements.
Stackdoor can be installed within most applications, creating a seamless security solution that is perfect for applications, including retail outlets, and low- to medium-risk commercial buildings.
Having accomplished certification from the independent testing organisation, Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), Stackdoor Secure also receives the Secured By Design preferred specification badge.
With a high duty motor and self-locking as mitigation of lifting, Stackdoor Secure is therefore ideal for multi-use car park applications.
What is LPS 1175?
“Loss Prevention Standard” LPS 1175 is an independent certification provided by the LPCB for the built environment.
Concerned with the physical security and ‘intruder resistant building components”, the standard itself focuses on physical security such as doors, shutters or security enclosures.
Issue 8 of LPS 1175 is the most drastic revision of the standard to date. With a fundamental shift to provide a more realistic scope for security ratings, Issue 8 ensures specifiers can select products to mitigate specific risks.
BRE have achieved a significant improvement in the standard by reviewing a more extensive range of tool categories, attack times and available ratings.
What certification has Stackdoor Secure achieved?
Stackdoor Secure has certified to offer Security Rating (SR) A1. For a standard shutter, achieving certification on a shutter that also has perforation above 50% has never been done before.
Security Rating A1 is resistant to attack using tools classified within Tool Category A, for 1 minute.
